High-Speed Motion Control Cinematography with Colossus
A Case Study capturing the power of motion with Colossus motion control robot by Motorized Precision
For this high-octane test project, we set out to capture Aaron Colton—decked out in Red Bull gear—riding the sleek 2025 Indian Cruiser with Colossus, our state-of-the-art six-axis robotic motion control system by Motorized Precision using MP Studio. This wasn’t just about filming a biker—it was about pushing the limits of motion control cinematography to create dynamic, high-speed tracking shots with unparalleled precision and fluidity.
This shoot was all about testing Colossus’ extreme versatility, its ability to handle fast-moving subjects, and demonstrating its game-changing potential
The Vision:
Capturing speed and precision is no easy task, but with Colossus’ advanced motion control, we aimed to create cinematic visuals that showcased Aaron Colton’s riding skills and the power of the Indian Cruiser in a way that felt immersive and intense. Our goal was to bring the audience into the action, making them feel the adrenaline of the ride while keeping the shots smooth, dynamic, and visually striking.
For this, we needed a motion control system that could match the speed and agility of a high-performance motorcycle, while delivering repeatable and seamless tracking shots. Whether it was a high-speed tracking move, a precision close-up of the bike's details, or slow-motion action shots, Colossus provided the perfect blend of accuracy and creative flexibility.

Colossus in Action
With a 20ft wingspan and exceptional speed, Colossus was able to track every movement with millimeter accuracy, ensuring cinematic, high-speed motion shots that would be impossible to replicate with traditional rigs. This test shoot was all about testing Colossus’ extreme versatility, its ability to handle fast-moving subjects, and demonstrating its game-changing potential for commercial video production, sports cinematography, and action-packed advertising campaigns.
The Execution
Colossus was put to the ultimate test, capturing high-speed tracking shots at precision angles, allowing us to get low, aggressive sweeps of the motorcycle while keeping every frame locked in perfect focus. With a 20ft wingspan and ultra-fast tracking speed, Colossus allowed us to:
Choreograph ultra-smooth tracking shots as Aaron leaned into turns, ensuring the bike’s power and speed were felt in every frame.
Capture close-up details of the Indian Cruiser in motion, showcasing the craftsmanship of the bike and the Red Bull aesthetic.
Execute seamless repeatable shots, essential for capturing multiple takes with consistent precision, a challenge in traditional action cinematography.
Utilize high-speed slow motion cinematography to emphasize the grit, dust, and movement, adding a cinematic edge to each shot.
By combining motion control cinematography with slow-motion photography, we were able to bring every detail to life—from the flex of the tires gripping the pavement to the engine’s vibration as it roared down the track.
The Result
This test proved that Colossus is a game-changer for high-speed motion cinematography. With its unmatched precision, speed, and reach, it opens new creative possibilities for automotive, sports, and high-action commercial cinematography. The ability to track fast-moving subjects with millimeter accuracy while delivering cinematic motion sequences makes it an essential tool for commercial directors, cinematographers, and DP’s in Los Angeles looking to elevate their projects.
Whether for motorcycle commercials, extreme sports campaigns, or high-speed automotive cinematography, Colossus delivers shots that were once impossible—now, they’re repeatable, controlled, and executed flawlessly.
