Radiant Skin and Fresh Creativity with Neutrogena Hydro Boost
A Case Study Showcasing Freshness Through Product Cinematography and Video Production
For the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer and Hydrating Gel ad campaign, our objective was to convey the feeling of radiant, well-nourished skin, beginning with hydration. Our goal was to inspire a sense of freshness and playfulness in skincare by unlocking the skin's potential and embracing the beauty of moisturized skin. This project exemplified our expertise in product cinematography, video production, and commercial video creation, skillfully orchestrated by our talented cinematographer.
The crew for this product cinematography and video production endeavor were nothing short of superheroes, especially in our quick study on bouncing spheres of awesome! Lou Martinez, our Art Director and SFX pro, proved to be a wizard when it came to crafting captivating visuals, including mesmerizing blue jello molds. The entire team, consisting of approximately 15 talented individuals, gathered at the legendary Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles, under the skilled direction of Gavin Bellour through Mustache Agency.
Filming Product
Cinematography played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. We aimed not only to showcase the product but also to create a sensory experience that resonated with the audience's preference for freshness and radiance with their skincare products.
Through meticulous attention to detail and artistic finesse, we crafted visuals that embodied the spirit of Neutrogena.
Refreshing Approach
Our approach to this product cinematography and commercial video project was as refreshing as a splash of water in the morning. We aimed to make hydration feel like a breeze, instilling the sensation of playfulness, similar to splashing in a puddle on a rainy day. We firmly believe that skincare should not be a chore but an enjoyable experience, a philosophy embedded in our work as cinematographers.
Jello Mold Magic
We decided to film these jello molds on a hot June day in Los Angeles, with the air conditioning doing its best to keep up. Lou Martinez, our Art Director and SFX pro, came prepared with industrial fridges and freezers. He brought molded jello balls of various thicknesses, buoyancies, and bounciness, all in a hypnotizing translucent blue. The result was a breathtaking sight in real life, and even more captivating and abstract when captured by the Phantom camera at 1000 frames per second.
The Results
Our journey with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer and Hydrating Gel campaign was simple yet profound. It demonstrated that even in the face of challenges, the pure delight of fresh creativity can shine through. Our campaign embodies the splashiness of skincare, reminding us all that taking care of our skin can and should be a joyful and invigorating experience, expertly conveyed through product cinematography, video production, and commercial video production.
